Description
One of the oldest Sicilian traditions this block of paste is used in the making of several summer sweets. It is composed of almonds which are finely chopped then worked together with sugar and natural flavorings like lemon and vanilla. It can be used to make what the Sicilians call Almond milk which is a delicious drink (served iced ) for those unbearably hot summer days. It can also be used for making Granita or ice-cream or as the principle ingredient for other sweet deserts.
Instructions for use: Pistachio milk: Dissolve the block of paste (150g) in 3/4 liter of warm water, filter and pour into a bottle or jug to be keep refrigerated and served ice cold.
Granita: Add to block of paste (150g) 20cl of water and 200g of sugar put in the freezer leave to set then liquidize, serve immediately. Buon Appetito!!
Ingredients: Sugar, PISTACHIO 14%, ALMONDS 12%, glucose syrup, invert sugar, preservative: potassium sorbate (E202), flavorings. May contain other NUTS, SESAME SEEDS, MILK, EGGS, PEANUTS, SOYBEANS, and CEREALS containing GLUTEN.
