Capers in salt 200g

Description

Capers are the buds of a bushy plant (Capperis spinosa) they have been cultivated since time immemorial and are to be found everywhere in the Mediterranean basin. The taste is slightly spicy and sour almost bitter ( the smaller the caper the more delicate the flavour). Capers are great to spice up mayonnaise or other cold sauces. When using them in hot dishes the capers are usually added towards the end of the cooking time as their aroma is quickly dispersed with heat. Before using salt preserved capers must be washed well in running water to get rid of excess salt.

Ingredients: Capers 70%, salt. May contain traces of NUTS.
